This is a stability mod mainly for people using the hi-res texture packs. So if ZAPCB helps you, I am glad to have helped, if not, you probably do not need it, and if you do not just deactivate it.

Do not blindly install my mod as a first step, while I am trying to make it as smart and helpful as possible, there are other things that you can do to improve stability, make sure to do those as well. If you are here you are one of the many people who are having stability issues with fallout3. Introduced Zeta-Hang safety fix.īut a word of advice first. * Cleaned up some stability conditions related to crashes after a door related loads, seems to work better for me now at least. This was simple enough, but cut in half the stuttering I had been seeing. * MINOR BUT SIGNIFICANT - added a preemptive 15 second PCB timer condition that only goes off when you are not moving, not turning, and not in combat. Added the ability to enable and/or disable the purging system, courtesy of AltDunmer.NEW VERSION - ZAPCB v0.9.7 - Minor Upgrades Increased the time window for all purge options. There should be none feel free to let me know if there are. To deinstall, remove the plugin from the load list and delete Zan_AutoPurge_SmartAgro_NV.esp from the game's data folder.

Unpack the archive into the game's data directory, and use your plugin manager of choice to include Zan_AutoPurge_SmartAgro_NV.esp in your load list. You do need it to configure said values, however - but why wouldn't you use The Mod Configuration Menu? Go get it! You don't actually need The Mod Configuration Menu to be able to use this plugin it has been supplied with a set of default values to work with. It's especially effective when used in combination with high-resolution texture packs, but it can still make a notable difference when used by itself. This plugin handles the purging of cell buffers, cleaning up and reducing the amount of information stored in RAM - which ultimately prevents the game from crashing as often as it normally would. Take a moment to throw a kudo AltDunmer's way for not only alerting me to the problem but also providing me with a quick fix. You can also use it to enable and/or disable the system this functionality should have been present in the initial release, but I somehow managed to overlook it. You can use The Mod Configuration Menu to tune the various purge delays (exterior, interior, menu, idle) as well as plugin feedback (do or don't display a message on purge) to your liking. As stated in the small description, this plugin has been ported with permission. I've cleaned up the code and made it compatible with The Mod Configuration Menu, but the real mojo comes from ZanGS - so please direct your appreciation to the latter. As Fallout: New Vegas is just as unstable as its predecessor, I decided to port the plugin, adapt it and see if it would make just as big a difference as it did in Fallout 3 - and it does. ZanGS' Zan AutoPurge Crash Protector plugin has proven to be very effective at stabilizing Fallout 3's performance.

I've taken it through the entire game, the DLCs and a number of user-created plugins without running into any problems, but with a game as unstable as this one you never really know. Consider the release of this plugin to be something akin to a public beta test.
